Your information

Privacy policy

Key Point Locksmiths is operated by R&D Security Pty Ltd (ABN 36 699 048 676), Adelaide, South Australia. This page explains what personal information we collect when you call us, request a callback or use this website, why we collect it, and who we share it with. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Last updated: 2 October 2026

What we collect

  • When you call us: your phone number, the time of the call and the details you give us to do the job, such as your name, the address where you need a locksmith and what the problem is. Calls may be logged by our phone system so we can call you back and dispatch the right technician.
  • When you use the callback form: your name, phone number, suburb and the message you type.
  • When we do the job: the work performed, the price you approved, payment details needed to issue an invoice, and any notes about the lock or door.
  • When you visit this website: standard technical data (device type, browser, pages viewed) and, if you arrived from an advertisement, the advertising click identifier and campaign tags carried in the link. We do not ask for or store card numbers on this website.

Why we collect it

  • To answer your call or callback request, confirm the job and send a technician to the right address.
  • To quote, carry out and invoice the work, and to honour our warranty.
  • To contact you about the job, including a follow-up if something was left unresolved.
  • To understand which advertising and which pages bring people who actually need a locksmith, so we can run the business and our advertising sensibly.
  • To protect the website and our advertising from fraudulent or automated clicks.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, and we do not give it to anyone for their own marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:

  • Our phone system and our job-management system, which hold your call and job details so the team can dispatch and follow up.
  • Our accounting software, which holds the details needed on an invoice.
  • Google, for website analytics (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager) and advertising measurement (Google Ads). When you tap to call from an ad or send the callback form, we may report that a contact happened. To measure which ads lead to completed jobs, we may send Google a hashed form of the phone number or email you gave us together with the advertising click identifier; Google uses this only to match the job to the ad click and cannot read the original number from the hash.
  • A click-fraud protection service that checks for automated or invalid traffic to our ads and website.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We only share what each one needs for its task.

Cookies and similar storage

This website uses Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics and Google Ads tags. These set cookies to recognise a returning browser and to attribute a visit to an advertisement. The site also keeps a small record in your browser (session and local storage) for up to 7 days so that, if you came from an ad, the same phone number is shown throughout your visit and your enquiry can be matched to the ad. You can clear or block cookies and site data in your browser settings; the site and the phone number will still work.

How long we keep it

Job and invoice records are kept for as long as Australian tax and consumer law requires, generally seven years. Call logs and website analytics are kept for the period our providers allow, after which they are deleted or aggregated. Enquiries that never became a job are kept only as long as needed to follow them up.

Security

Access to call, job and customer records is limited to the people who need it to run the business. Our systems are protected by passwords and, where available, two-factor authentication. No method of storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

Your choices and rights

  • You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it.
  • You can ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep by law.
  • You can opt out of advertising personalisation through your Google account settings and by blocking cookies in your browser.
  • If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
